Bachelors in nursing extension is a bridging program for diploma nurses who are self-driven in advancing their knowledge and skills. This is a blended program that allows students to continue working while improving their competences.

Outcome

Graduates of bachelors in nursing extension will be able to provide nursing care in the South Sudan healthcare system upon registration with the council of nurses and midwives of South Sudan.

Applicants should have:

v  Diploma of nursing

v  at least one year of professional experience

Intake

There are two intakes in a calendar year (May and September).

Fees

60,000 SSP/200 USD per semester

Graduates apply scientific knowledge in helping individuals, communities to improve diet and prevent lifestyle-related chronic diseases.

This is an online blended three-year program.

The candidate should have a South Sudan secondary education certificate or an equivalent

The health system in South Sudan faces a number of challenges.  There is still great need to train students to exercise critical thinking, judgement and design cost effective innovations in the provision of comprehensive and integrated clinical practice, as well as community-based health care. 

Graduates in diploma in public health will have competences in biostatistics, epidemiology, health management, Primary Health Care and Research. 

Program Goal:

The diploma in public health programme is to improve the quality of health services for the community through higher education and integrated practice. 

The programme also aims at preparing a student for meaningful functioning, as a team member, within the health care system.
